I was out running errands the other day and saw something that tickled me so much that I almost wet my pants. I take my garbage to a recycling center and the fellas that run the place are a little rough around the edges if you know what I mean. They're personable and everything--they'll give you the 'Hey' nod usually in between spits into the old dip cup and a retucking in of their work shirts complete with a sneak peek at their packages whether you're paying attention or not. Anyhow, I've noticed they like to listen to the local radio station that plays a lot of classic country tunes and I have even heard them sing along a time or two. These guys do not move much. Mainly, one of them will stand up to collect the dollar a bag fee that is assessed and then sit back down. I guess it wouldn't be a bad job if you could stand the smell. The dump is a very busy place--people in and out all day. I usually don't return home back past the dump but that day I had forgotten letters that I was going to mail. I had to slow going past the center and had my windows down enjoying the warm weather for a change. What I saw and heard was this: Three of the roughest, garbagemen that you have ever seen were standing in line, dancing and singing as loud as they could to Brooks and Dunn's Boot Scootin' Boogie. That totally made my day! Press the play button below... Happy St. Patrick's Day! |
